What is an Escape Room & How Does it Work? | Our escape rooms are a live experience. Players enter a themed room and work together to find the clues, solve the riddles and complete the puzzles & challenges within the room. Lockers will be provided free of charge for all electronic devices and belongings. You will not need to bring in any items, including torches, paper and pens. All players will be briefed on the rules inside the escape room before you can begin, so it's best for all players to arrive prior to your session start time, so this does not eat into your time. Our rooms have been designed to promote teamwork and often challenges require more than one person to complete them, so good communication is important. Everyone will need to work together if you want to “escape”. If your team is successful, you will be congratulated over the audio system and a staff member will advise your escape time. If your team does not escape within the 60 minutes, an audible message is played over your room to advise that your session time is up. Before escorting your group out, a staff member will walk your group through some, or all of the remaining challenges left to complete. |
What Does a Keyless Escape Room Mean? | Very simply it means just that – NO KEYS or PADLOCKS! Our rooms are fully automated, electronically controlled smart rooms. Electronics, sounds, lighting, sensors and more have been integrated into our rooms and puzzles to give you an immersive experience. It’s like being inside a computer game, where standard everyday items like microwaves, telephones, pictures, cupboards, taps, cooktops etc, are much more than they first appear. |
Is Your Venue Wheelchair Accessible? | Wheelchairs can access our reception, waiting rooms & bathroom areas only. Unfortunately our escape rooms are not accessible for wheelchairs. They either require stair access, have limited space, or require you to climb over steps or objects to progress in the game, however we hope to be able to provide wheelchair accessible escape rooms in the future. |
Parties & Catering | We do not currently offer any party packages or have “party rooms” for hire. Outside food and drinks are not permitted (except water bottles). Our rooms provide the experience & entertainment only. Click here for printable party invites. |
Gift Vouchers - Buying & Redeeming | You can purchase and redeem Gift Vouchers through our website, just click the ‘Gift Vouchers’ link in the navigation bar at the top. All gift voucher purchases can be customized after purchase and then be printed or emailed. When redeeming gift vouchers please note that the dollar amount of the voucher will apply at the end of the booking. You’ll need to select your date and session first and follow all the booking steps. The dollar amount will then be deducted from your booking when you are ready to pay. All gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from date of purchase. |
How Long Does it Take? | Allow approximately 10 minutes before your session and 10 minutes after. Players have 60 minutes in the escape room to complete all the challenges. If teams do not complete all the challenges within the allocated time, staff can walk teams through the remaining challenges. IMPORTANT – Sessions begin on time and the 60 minutes will commence no later than your booking start time! After playing your escape room game, staff will take photos of your group in the escape room and send them via text message to the phone number provided on the booking form. |
Do I Have to Play With People I Don't Know? | Your booking is private and you will only be in the room with the people that you book for. We may have other groups that book the same session time as you, but they will play in different rooms to your group. |
How Many People Can Play? | The Wild West room is designed for 2 to 6 players. We can cater for up to 30 players at each session. Please Note: Our recommendations on maximum group size are for the benefit and value for all players, however if you wish to forgo our recommendation and add an extra player, or two to your room, we will allow it, just let the staff know on arrival. |
Can I Add An Extra Person/s to my Booking? | We are always happy to accommodate and are pretty flexible. You can add players to your booking, so long as you do not exceed our maximum group size for your room selection. Please Note: Our recommendations on maximum group size are for the benefit and value for all players, however if you wish to forgo our recommendation and add an extra player, or two to your room, we will allow it, just let the staff know on arrival. |
What Happens if we are Running Late? | All our escape rooms need to be cleaned, reset and ready to go before every session. Therefore it is important for your game to commence on time and everyone should arrive no later than your scheduled booking time. If you arrive late, your 60 minutes of escape time will be reduced by the amount of time you are late, as to not impose on the next groups session time. If anyone in your group is running late, the game will still start as scheduled and we can place them into the game on their arrival. If you are running more than 30 minutes late, unfortunately there is not enough time to play and your group will not be able to commence at all. Your booking will be deemed a No-Show and no refunds will be provided. |
Are Walk-Ins Accepted? | Escaplex is only open during booked sessions and bookings are limited. To avoid disappointment, please call or book ahead of time. For short notice bookings please contact us via phone, or email, and we will do our best to fit you in. |
Can I Bring Children? | Children are welcome to play. All participants aged 5+ will be considered paying participants. Children aged 5-15 must have an adult as a paying player on their team & all participants aged 5+ must be included in the group size. Children aged 4 years or younger may attend with adults free of charge, so long as they are in a pram/stroller or body harness. |

Our rooms are electronically controlled, which means we do have items that can move, or open by themselves if the challenge is completed correctly, but we do not have any jump scares, or live actors in our rooms. We have ambience music suited to the theme of the room, which can sometimes cause younger players to feel a little anxious, or frightened. Most suitable rooms for younger participants is Deadly Dinner, Jubilee Heist & Wild West. |
Am I Really Locked In? | The entry and exit doors do lock while the game is in session, but we have a number of safety features installed so you are never completely locked in and you are free to leave the game at any time. |
Are the Rooms Scary or Claustrophobic? | Quite simply NO! There are no live actors or jump-scares. The rooms are electronically controlled, which means when you complete challenges correctly, lighting can change, there are sound effects, drawers & doors open by themselves. Our rooms are designed to be intriguing & mysterious and perhaps to some – a little creepy. Our rooms are no smaller than an average size bedroom and most players are so immersed into the game that they do not feel anxious, or claustrophobic. |
Which is the Best Escape Room for My Group to Play? | You can’t go wrong with any of our rooms, they have all been carefully designed to make teams work together and each contain a good variety of puzzles and challenges for your team to play. Jubilee Heist and Deadly Dinner are more achievable with approximately 50% of teams completing all challenges within 60 minutes. Both these rooms are suitable for all ages. Wild West has a few more challenges to complete than the other rooms, with most teams running out of time. Approximately 30% of teams will complete all the challenges within 60 minutes. This room is suitable for all ages. Picture Imperfect is a little creepier feel and best for ages 13 years or older. Some of the puzzles in this room are a little tricker. Approximately 40% of teams will complete all the challenges within 60 minutes. |
How Much Does it Cost? | All bookings are private, meaning you are only playing with the group you book for. Our prices are as follows:
Any booking with children 15yrs or younger, MUST have at least one participating Adult 18+, in the experience with them at all times. Children aged 4 and under are not permitted, unless in a restraint for the FULL experience. Please decide if this is something that will suit your group. Refunds are not provided if someone doesn’t turn up on the day, therefore we strongly suggest booking for a 2-player game and pay for the remaining players on the day. | ||||||||||||
Multi-Room Group Bookings | Multi-Room Bookings make it easier for you to book a group of people in to play different escape rooms at the same session time. All players will be divided into teams and each team will play one escape room. DURATION: 60mins in the escape room (allow 10mins prior to session start time and 5-10 mins after session for photos and debriefing). The timer in the room will commence at the booked session time, so arriving approximately 10 minutes prior is recommended. Bookings are available to book online any day between 9am to 9pm. What if Someone in my Group Pulls Out, or Doesn't Turn Up? | We are sorry that your friend isn’t able to come, hopefully you can find someone to fill their spot, as no refunds are provided. If the room does get re-booked, we will automatically put a credit on your account with us (less a 10% administration charge), which can be used towards your next booking. If it doesn't re-book, the minimum booking fee will be retained, and the balance (if any), will be put as a credit on your account with us. |
